The word "Coterie" originates from France during Medieval times. Pronounced "cote-ery", today it is used to describe a small and select group of people who have a common and shared interest.

In 2014 Stewart Lucy, a passionate lover of polo and player, started "Polo Coterie". A place where all lovers of polo can gravitate to, come for advice, equipment, clothing & lessons.
